Professional Development Through Social Media

During the workshop we will learn about using social media for professional development (PD) and how to tailor it to fit specific interests and professional needs. There will be an overview of the benefits of social media use for PD, with a focus on Twitter and blogging, as participants work towards building a Personalized Learning Network (PLN.) The second part of the workshop will provide attendees with time to get help setting up accounts and navigating the platforms for the first time with a new focus in mind. We will look in-depth at hashtags, how to find people to follow, and how to connect with other educators to continually improve ourselves professionally.
