Learn the value and process of circles — practical and effective tools for creating a positive
classroom climate to support learning.
Teachers can use circles to provide students with opportunities to share ideas and experiences in
order to establish relationships and social norms. Classrooms tend to be more productive when
they invest in building social capital through the proactive use of restorative circles. When a
problem does arise, teachers find that the reaction of students is more positive and cooperative.
Circles can provide an orderly and reflective process that reinforces positive values.
