Teaching Academic Vocabulary Online Course

What is academic vocabulary and why is it important? We all know our students have limited vocabularies on which to build the knowledge of various disciplines. But how can we help them to be better thinkers, better speakers, better readers, and better writers? First and foremost, they must have words! This four-hour session first lays the framework for vocabulary instruction and then provides the tools to make vocabulary learning fun and interactive. This course is appropriate for all grades and all disciplines. This event will be facilitated online using Blendspace. Participants will receive an email each week with a link to the next module.
