ELA Writing Matters (Galesburg)

This resource-rich professional development workshop will provide educators with instructional practices to implement the New Illinois Standards for Writing. The Writing Matters website will be used to facilitate the various writing tasks necessary to meet the standards and prepare for PARCC. Participants will be able to define and describe the attributes of the 10 Writing Standards, explain how the Standards support the three types of writing, and identify mentor texts as a key resource. Strategies and resources will be shared.
