This conference will explore substance use and abuse in rural communities. Our keynote speakers are Tim Ryan and his wife Jennifer Gimenez. Tim Ryan, author of the best-selling book, From Dope to Hope, is a tireless activist in today's drug addiction and mental health crisis. As one of the nation's leading advocates on addiction recovery, Jennifer Gimenez has become a regular fixture on numerous television networks and across multiple social media platforms. Now over 15 years sober, Gimenez has used the story of her recovery to help others. There will also be an expert panel of those in recovery to provide insight on a personal level. The "Hidden in Plain Sight" display will be available for viewing. Agencies will have table displays for networking and there will be several breakout sessions covering various topics on substance misuse in rural Illinois.
