Description Do you need a break? Or maybe just to take some time for yourself? Join us IN PERSON as we encourage you to do just that! The focus of 2022's Whatever It Takes Conference (WITcon) is SEL and Wellness.

WITcon22 is proud to host Chase Mielke, author of The Burnout Cure: Learning to Love Teaching Again. Chase Mielke is an award-winning educator, writer, and speaker focusing on preventing teacher burnout and increasing student engagement. Chase will deliver a can't-miss keynote session as well as multiple breakout sessions.

WITcon22 will also spotlight ROE 26 and ROE 33 Social Emotional Learning Hub Coaches Kate Mallory and Jessica Donaldson. They will each deliver a mini keynote and offer breakout sessions as well.

Jessica Donaldson is the Regional Office of Education #33 Director of Behavioral Health. Jessica has over 13 years of experience working in Behavioral Health. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a certified Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher, a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and a Cognitive Coach. Jessica has helped bridge the gap between behavioral health and education through training, supporting, and developing programs, including School-Based Mental Health Therapy and 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Jessica is passionate about supporting educator wellness and specializes in the areas of Social and Emotional Learning, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed Practices, and Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Kate Mallory has worked in the Early Childhood field for 20 years in West Central Illinois and is the Grant Director and Parent Educator of Early Beginnings with ROE #26. Kate has trained in the Neurosequential Model in Education by Dr. Bruce Perry and is a certified Compassion Fatigue Professional as well as a Cognitive Coach. She has trained those in social services, the medical field, higher education, and K-12 school districts. Kate's years of conducting research, service delivery, and passion to support families and children from diverse backgrounds fuels her enthusiasm to provide support with an emphasis in Building Relationships, Cultural Responsiveness, Brain Development, Safe and Supportive Learning Environments, Trauma-informed Educational Practices, Vicarious Trauma, and Youth Mental Health First Aid.

In addition to Chase, Jessica, and Kate, WITcon will also feature several school/district teams who want to share what they have done and next steps as they continue to make SEL and Wellness a priority for those in their buildings.

WITcon22 will also feature an Early Childhood strand this year as well, and those sessions will be led by ROE #26 and ROE #33 Early Childhood Staff who are dedicated to ensuring younger kiddos and families benefit from services and support as well.

Stay tuned as more presenters will be added to the lineup. We also have some fun things planned, and who wouldn't love WITcon swag!!!
