Join us for a virtual learning series that will equip you in supporting your students, as well as yourself!
(Two day participation is recommended but not required)
Day 1 - From Trauma to Triumph: Building Resilience through Restorative Language and Brain-Based Strategies for Classroom Management : Students must feel safe and valued in order to learn. This training will enable participants to identify toxic stress and the effects of adverse childhood experiences to the brain. Based on the groundbreaking work of Dr. Bruce Perry, the Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) provides school staff with essential insights into brain development. You'll gain brain-based techniques that not only foster academic achievement but also promote emotional healing. You will discover how to create an environment where every student can thrive, no matter their background or challenges. Join us in becoming the best creators of meaningful, impactful connections—where learning is an adventure and every student has the opportunity to shine!
Day 2 - Is It Job Burnout or the Effects of Vicarious Trauma: Have you ever thought – Am I still making a difference? Many do, especially in the career of education. Sometimes job burnout can be the effects of hearing and seeing student and peer trauma stories. This session will give you the tools to understand if your feelings are job burnout or a deeper issue of secondary traumatic stress. We will review the groundbreaking Adverse Childhood Experiences Study, define vicarious (secondary) trauma and secondary traumatic stress, identify risk factors and signs of secondary traumatic stress and discover how to build vicarious resilience through in-school support and self-care.
