Ag in the Classroom - Agriculture in Your Backyard

This three day workshop will include 2 days of fiel trips to ag related businesses and research labs in the local area. The participants will have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of agriculture and how it relates to our economy and the science involved in today's agriculture. We will tour the Peoria Ag Lab, the Pioneer Research Facility in Adair, Midwest Grass and Forage, a hog farm, Birkey's Implement, and a trucking business. The last day presentations from the Pork and Dairy Council, a panel discussion with local farmers and presentations from AITC coordinators.
